The Storm of the centry looks as if it is getting ready to dump upon us. Despite the weather people saying this storm isn't supposed to be bad. The wind is so gusty that the front door of the office keeps blowing up and closing, just a little creepy.
I just went outside to take down the flag, you know, before it starts raining and I end up getting wet dirty yuk on my hand when I take it down later. Anyhoo, so I go out there and the wind is blowin the sucker all over the place. Like, I'm flying an American Flag kite. I start pulling it down and the fricken thing ceases to move. I tug once. I tug twice. I take a closer glance and I notice that the tip on the outside of the flag has blown onto and now into the rigging mechanisim that allows the rope to slide.
I get Crystal to help me out. I figure maybe two heads are better than one. She tries the exact same thing and notes that nope that flag is staying exactly where it is. We can't even pull it down by ripping it. It is so interwoven in the pulley that it won't go anywhere. So now somebody, NOT yours truly is going to have to go on the roof, reach over the edge, grab the flag and find away to get it down from there. With the rain beginning and the wind howling, I'm guessing that it will stay up until Monday.
This was just what I needed to put a smile on my face this afternoon, woot!
